Dear Friends,

Midway through my third term representing the citizens in portions of Cass, Jackson and Lafayette counties, I want to emphasize the importance of staying in touch with my constituents.  I am here to represent you in the Legislature and welcome your thoughts and comments.  As I have done since being first elected in 2012, I plan to  continue to focus on solving real problems facing our district and state.

Warm regards,

Governor Signs Two of Donna’s Bills

Dealing With Guardianship of Minors

and Political Subdivision Audits

I had the pleasure of attending a bill signing in Governor Eric Greitens’ office in mid-July as he signed SB 111, which contained language from my HB 921. This bill assists county Public Administrators in their duties as the guardians of minors. Specifically, this legislation will allow Public Administrators the freedom to serve solely as the conservators of the estates of orphaned minors, instead allowing the Department of Social Services to decide how best to serve these minors. This was a priority for the Public Administrators’ Association.

Additionally, Governor Greitens signed SB 112 into law, which includes my HB 849 on political subdivision audits. This language is an extension of HB 1418 from 2016, which was signed into law last year and has already proven to be a valuable tool for the State Auditor’s Office to ensure greater accountability and transparency for your tax dollars.

View my Capitol Reports for information on other bills.
